HAWK HAPPENINGS

Athletics: 
  • Volleyball is home vs Stockdale today. Frosh Soph starts at 4, JV at 5 and Varsity at 6:15. 
  • Tennis plays Garces today at 4pm. Varsity is away and JV at home. 
  • Football is week is home vs Garces! This Friday is Senior night. JV starts at 4:30pm and Varsity at 7:15pm
  • Baseball meeting Wednesday @ 12:00 in coach Mawsons room 804 for any freshmen or sophomores that are interested in playing this upcoming season.
  • There will be a swim meeting at lunch in room 1101 this Thursday Oct 17th
  • Wrestling, Girls Basketball and Girls soccer will begin Winter conditioning Monday 10/14. You must be cleared by the athletics office in order to begin practice.
  • Boys soccer will begin Monday Oct 28th. You must be cleared by the athletics office being practice.
Activities:
  • Picture Retake day is Thursday 10/17 at lunch time!
  • Make sure you pick up your Think Pink shirts for this Fridays football game from the Finance office!
  • Next Wednesday October 23rd is our All Hallows Eve movie night. The movie is Monster House and there will be unlimited popcorn available for $5.
  • The Hawk shop is open this Thursday! Don’t forget to redeem your tickets for your quarter grades by October 25th!
 
Seniors!!: 
  • Christian Hall will be on campus for senior pictures Oct. 15th
  • Jostens will be on campus for Cap and Gown orders Thursday Oct. 24th. 
  • There are only 50 grad night spots left! Buy your tickets in the Finance office
 
Club Announcements:
  • There will be a BSU meeting at lunch in room p6! Grab your lunch and join us.
  • The Asian Club will be celebrating Filipino Culture on Wednesday, October 16th during lunch in room 803.
  • Drama Club meeting at lunch in the PAC - Improv Game Day - All are welcome. Come and Play or come and watch.  Bring your lunch and a friend.
  • Good luck to the 8 members of the Centennial Mock Trial Team at the Providence Cup Mock Trial Tournament in Denver, Colorado this week.
  • “Via Arte is this weekend at the Market Place, on Saturday and Sunday. Come on out and cheer on our Hawk Artists as they complete amazing works of art, and while your there don’t forget to VOTE for your favorite work of art. Once again this event is taking place at the Market Place this weekend, so come on out and enjoy amazing art and great music.”
  • FCA will meet Wednesday in the choir room at the start of lunch so bring a friend and fellowship with us
 
 
From the Career Center:
 
  • Seniors: The 2019-2020 FAFSA is available for filing. Stop by the career center and begin by setting up your FAFSA ID.
  • Seniors: The UC Application Workshop will be held all day Wednesday, Oct. 23rd in the Career Center. Sign up if interested.
  • The Stockdale Moose Lodge will host the 2019-20 Youth Awareness Congress on Saturday, 10-26-19. This Scholarship Opportunity is open to all high school students. Flyers with more information are available.
  • Seniors: We are having a FAFSA ID WORKSHOP  this Thursday, from 1:30-2:30 in the library. Be sure to bring your social security number to create your ID. You will need to create this ID in order to apply for the FAFSA. 
  • Seniors: The Sara Takii Scholarship established by the Bakersfield Republican Women is open. Two scholarships of $1,000 are available for female students who will graduate and enroll in a community college, four year university or vocational school. Applications are available now, the deadline is April 1st.
  • The Scholarship of the Week:  The Grimmway 2020 College Scholarship Program. This scholarship program is available to children of employees of Grimmway Enterprises, Inc. The goal of this program is to encourage the employees' children to: graduate from high school and attend a four-year college or university and to earn a college degree. The maximum reward can be a $10,000 college scholarship and a computer. Applications are available in the Career Center.
