GENERAL

  • Blood Drive is TODAY! All students must have a pass to donate! If you do not have a donation hall pass you can go to the table in front of the library during passing periods or lunch to check your appointment time.
ATHLETICS 
  • All athletes must have a physical packet turned in before participating in sports! Not doing a Fall sport?! That's ok! Get your physical early so you don't have to worry later!
  • All wrestlers not doing a Fall sport! There is a mandatory meeting with coach Gabin Monday at 2:30 in the wrestling room
 
ACTIVITIES 
  • Freedom Bowl Shirt orders are due today!
  • Have you been paying to get into sporting events?? WHY? Buy your $50 ASB sticker with finance and get in to all games FREE all year to any KHSD site!
  • Salute to service shirts are on sale and can be ordered online! Come get a flyer with more info from activities.
 

CLUBS

  • The Meme and comedy club meets every Friday during lunch in P-2. Everyone is invited, download funny school appropriate content to share.
FROM THE CAREER CENTER
  • The Adventist Health Junior Volunteer Program is looking for mature, dependable students to volunteer. You must be 15 years of age and have a GPA of 3.0 to apply. Assignments are one three-hour shift per week. Check with Ms. Hayes in the Career Center for an application and more information. 
  • Seniors: Applications are now being accepted for students interested in attending a United States Service Academy: Air Force, Merchant Marine, Military, Naval and Coast Guard for the class entering in June 2019. All seniors in the 23rd Congressional District interested in receiving a congressional nomination to a service academy may apply by submitting an application to Kevin McCarthy's Bakersfield office. Flyers with more information are available in the Career Center.
  • The Stockdale Moose Lodge will host the 2018-2019 Youth Awareness Congress on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018. This scholarship opportunity is open to all high school students. Flyers are available in the Career Center.
  • The Hispanic Scholarship Fund invites you to attend College 101, a free and bilingual workshop where you will receive valuable information about how to prepare, plan, and pay for a college education! Saturday, October 6th, 9am-12pm at the Dore Theatre 9001 Stockdale Hwy. Flyers with more information are available in the Career Center.
  • Applications are available for the 2019 Bakersfield Pageant. Attend the orientation meeting for more information  tonight, September 24th, 7:00 pm at the Stockdale Affairs Event Center. The Bakersfield Pageant awards scholarships, prizes and the opportunity to serve our community through our outreach programs. Flyers are available in the Career Center.
  • The Veterans of Foreign Wars Voice of Democracy scholarship is open to students in grades 9-12. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year's theme is, "Why My Vote Matters". Deadline is Oct. 31, 2018. Flyers are available in the Career Center. 
  • The "Welcome to CSUB" presentation for those seniors planning on attending CSUB in the Fall 2019 will be held this Wednesday, Sept. 26th, 4th period in the PAC. Seniors must sign up prior to the presentation in the Career Center.
  • The Scholarship of the Week:  Is the 2018 Youth Awards Hispanic Heritage Foundation Grants. Students can receive up to $3500 in educational grants and will be celebrated as Latino leaders in their community. Flyers are available in the Career Center.

 

 

  

  • The Career Center is open to students before and after school, 1st-5th and 7th period. Located in the main office by the counseling offices.
