  • The last day for cap and gowns is FEB 15th. After this date a $10 fee will be added.
  • Cap and gown order forms are available in the Activity office or you can visit http://www.Jostens.com and select Centennial High School (Bakersfield)
  • AP Exams: You may now purchase AP exams in the finance office. Cost is $94 per exam. Deadline to pay is April 5, 2019. Reduced fee is $20 if you qualify. See Mrs. Wattenbarger for application.

From the Career Center:
 
  • The Adventist Health Bakersfield JR Volunteer Program is now taking applications for the 2019 Summer/Fall Program. The Junior Volunteer Program offers various opportunities for service. No former volunteer experience is required. Applicant must be 15 years of age or older and carry a minimum GPA of 3.0. More information and applications are available in the career center. Deadline is April 15th.
  • 10th and 11th graders register to win a $40,000 scholarship and a $5,000 tech package when you take the ACT test. Each test date (April, June, and July) will have ONE winner who gets a $5,000 scholarship and a $5,000 tech package for three winners total. For more information pick up a flyer.
  • Seniors: The online NOR Scholarship application is open. One $1,000 and one $500 scholarship has been designated for two senior CHS students. Go online to apply. https://www.norchamber.org/scholarship-application.
  • Attending a U.S. Service Academy is an excellent way for young people to obtain an education while preparing for a leadership role in service to our country. Congressman McCarthy is sponsoring a Service Academy Forum this Saturday, March 23rd. Interested students and parents have an opportunity to learn more about the application process, academy life, and career opportunities within the various branches of the military.  Flyers with more information are available. 
  • The Scholarship of the Week: American Petroleum Institute San Joaquin Valley Chapter Scholarship.  Applicants must wish to pursue a career in the petroleum industry or a closely related field. More information and applications are available in the career center.
