  • All debt must be cleared through the Finance office in order to purchase a dance ticket.






From the Career Center:
  • Seniors: Pick up an application for the 2020 Lincoln Day Essay! 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be presented with scholarships of $2,000, $1,000 and $750. Pick a current issue that has either a local or national impact and explain how Abraham Lincoln would deal with the issue if he were president today.
  • Seniors: If you haven't yet completed your FAFSA please come to the career center for help. The FAFSA is the application for federal and state financial aid. The deadline is March 2, 2020.
  • The Kevin McCarthy for Congress internship program is currently looking for volunteers. Learn about the political process, make new friends, participate in community service, obtain a letter of recommendation and more! Applications are available.
  • The ASVAB interpretations will be Thursday, Jan. 23rd. Please report to the cafeteria directly after 1st period. If you have any questions come by the Career Center.
  • Attention Junior Girls: Are you interested in participating in a scholarship program with chances to attend state and/or national level competition? Come check out the Distinguished Young Women of Bakersfield scholarship program orientation on Tuesday, Jan.28th, from 6:30-7:30 at the Law Offices of Klein, DeNatale and Goldner (4550 California Ave., 3rd Floor).
  • Seniors: The Kern County Science Foundation Scholarship has arrived. Awards have previously have ranged from $250-$2500. Seniors who have participated in KC Regional Science Fair, science, mathematics or engineering endeavors, GEM, Science Bowl, Senior High Math Field Day, Physics Olympics or service-learning projects should apply. Stop by and pickup an application. Deadline is 02/17/20.
  • Seniors: Attention future Cal State Roadrunners the CSUB scholarship application is now available online for students attending CSUB in Fall 2020. Priority deadline to apply for these scholarships is March 2nd. Students who have applied to CSUB and received their "Net ID" may apply at: https://csub.academicworks.com/
  • Kern High School students, 9th and 10th grade, are invited to participate in the 2020 College: Making it Happen! Essay Contest. The top essay will be eligible to receive either a Laptop or Tablet as a prize. Students will be asked to write an essay on : Why does college matter to you? What kind of difference can you make in your community/society with an education? Flyers are available in the Career Center.
  • The Scholarship of the Week: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Kappa Omega Omega Chapter invites all eligible African-American senior students to apply for a book scholarship to help supplement higher education pursuits. Pick up an application in the Career Center.
