Athletics:
  •  Athletic packets must be turned in for those wishing to participate in Spring sports.
  • Swim practice will begin Monday Jan. 14th at the Greenacres pool @ 3pm *This is a drop only bus*
  • Girls Basketball pictures will be Monday Jan 21st.
  • Boys basketball pictures will be Friday Jan 25th.
  • Boys and girls soccer pictures will be Wednesday Jan 23rd.
  • Wrestling pictures will be Wednesday Jan 28th.
  • 1st ever Teddy Bear Toss at the Jan 17th Varsity Basketball game vs Frontier. A new teddy bear is your ticket into the game. When the first basket of the game is made, everyone will throw their teddy bears onto the court. Those teddy bears will then be donated to our local children’s hospital.
  • RAK/Co-Ed Volleyball tournament: Grab 3 girls and 3 boys and get signed up for the RAK/Co-Ed volleyball tournament on Wednesday Jan 23rd. $30 per team… if your team paid and played in the practice tourney, you do not have to pay again.
  • General Announcements:
  • Formal tickets are now for sale!  $45 with ASB sticker, $55 without ASB sticker.
  • Cap and gown order forms are available in the Activity office or you can visit http://www.Jostens.com and select Centennial High School (Bakersfield) 
  • Lifetouch retake pictures from Oct. 28th are available in the activities office.
  • PSAT Exam results will be available online beginning Wednesday December 12 at https://pages.collegeboard.org/student-score-reports-access-december-12 Please check with your counselor or Mr. Morley if you have any questions.

From the Career Center:
  • Attention Sophomores and Juniors: The Regional Occupational Center Campus Tour will be held on Jan. 23rd. Those interested in attending ROC next year and want to visit the campus need to sign up for this field trip. Permission slips need to be turned in by Jan. 18th. ROC offers 27 high quality career training programs.
  •  Attention Juniors only: The Coolidge Scholarship is now open. Coolidge Scholars are selected primarily on academic excellence. Secondary criteria include: an interest in public policy, an appreciation for and understanding of the values President Coolidge championed, as well as humility and service. Deadline is 01/23/19. Flyers are available.
  • Attention Juniors and Seniors: The ASVAB Test will be given tomorrow, Jan.16th in the cafeteria from 8:00 am - 11:30 am. When the bell rings for school to begin, please go straight to the cafeteria. A sign in will be taken for attendance. You must have previously signed up to attend.
  •  All seniors should complete the FAFSA, even if you may not qualify for most financial aid. Financial aid offices use the FAFSA to create a financial aid package that may include both need and academic based aid. Stop by the career center for help, the FAFSA deadline is March 2, 2019. 
  • Bakersfield College bound seniors if you haven't completed an application for Fall 2019 come to the career center to get your application completed.
  • Attention BC bound seniors: Bakersfield College has nearly 300 unique scholarships available from merit to need-based, covering all majors. Deadline to apply is Feb. 1st. Flyers are available with more information.
  • The Scholarship of the Week: The Gandhi Scholarship. The Gandhi Celebration Committee and the Ravi and Naina Patel Foundation invites all H.S. seniors to submit their original essay as part of a year long celebration of Gandhi's 150th birthday on the following topic: "Satyagraha: Truth is the Goal, Nonviolence is the Way."  1st prize is $1,000 and 2nd prize is $500. More information and applications are available in the career center.
