 General Announcements:
  • The Wizard of Oz opens this Fri, March 22! Get your tickets in the finance office or at the door, $10 (cash only) or $8.00 with ASB. Doors open at 6:30!
  • Graduation speaker information is available now in the library. Speaker interview sign-ups begin April 1, and interviews will be conducted after school on April 30, May 1, and May 2.
  • Seniors!! Don't forget to order your Cap & Gown if you haven't already!
  • Cap and gown order forms are available in the Activity office or you can visit http://www.Jostens.com and select Centennial High School (Bakersfield)
  • AP Exams: You may now purchase AP exams in the finance office. Cost is $94 per exam. Deadline to pay is April 5, 2019. Reduced fee is $20 if you qualify. See Mrs. Wattenbarger for application.
Club Announcements:
  • CHS will host an Extra-Life game day (with snacks) on SAT March 30 (noon to 6) in the CHS cafeteria. Play new/vintage games… compete in game challenges... have fun and benefit the Lauren Small Center.
  • The Centennial Mock Trial Team will be holding its final scrimmage in preparation for state this Tuesday at 6 PM in the library. All students interested in mock trial are encouraged to attend. 
From the Career Center:
  •  Band, Color Guard and Orchestra graduating seniors the Talon's Scholarship is open and applications are available. Turn in completed applications to Ms. Hayes by Monday, April 29th. 
  • Attention students who are planning on taking a concurrent class at BC this summer. You need to take your concurrent enrollment sheet up to Bakersfield College Admissions along with a transcript if you are planning on taking any class that has a prerequisite. See Ms. Hayes is you have any questions.
  • Seniors: Be sure to take a valid picture ID and your transcript with you when meeting with your counselor at Bakersfield College they must have the transcript to assess your classes.
  • Seniors: The Fred Pierucci Scholarship for Architecture and Planning is awarded to a graduating senior who intends to attend college in the Fall and demonstrates an interest in studying architecture, planning, or a related field as an undergraduate. More information and applications are available.
  • Seniors remember to let Ms. Hayes know if you receive any type of scholarship, monetary award or military acceptance. All your hard work will be recognized at the Senior Awards Ceremony.
  • The Scholarship of the Week: Chief Steve Alvidrez Criminal Justice Career Scholarship. The Chief Steve Alvidrez Foundation through funding from fundraisers and private donations will award merit scholarships to students pursuing a career in criminal justice.  More information and applications are available.
