Alpha Delta Kappa – Theta Chapter Juliet Thorner Award Applicant must be a female graduate from a junior high or middle school in the Bakersfield City School District. A completed application, letter or recommendation and a transcript is required. TBA


Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Kappa Omega Chapter Book Scholarship Applicants must live in Kern County, be African American and be planning on attending a university, community college, vocational school or the military. A completed application, personal essay, official transcript and two sealed letters or recommendation are required. TBA
American Petroleum Institute San Joaquin Valley Chapter This scholarship is for students who wish to purse a career in the petroleum industry or a closely related field. An essay, letters of recommendation, transcript, completed application and proof of enrollment is required. TBA
Anthony Brucia Success Award This award is intended for resilient students who have made a turn-around in their lives. A student who has had to overcome lack of success early on or who had to struggle to maintain academic progress due to a variety of reasons, including but not limited to personal or family stress or problems. TBA

Assistance League of Bakersfield Applicant must be entering a two year community college or four year college/university. Student must have a 3.0 GPA, financial need, community involvement and be a resident of Kern County. FAFSA must be completed. Scholarship awarded up to $1,000. TBA
Augustine Family Scholarship This scholarship is a renewable $1,000/year scholarship meant specifically for high-achieving low-income students who, without financial aid, might otherwise be unable to attend the 4-year college/university of their choice. TBA
Autism Society Scholarship This scholarship requires that a candidate should be seeking a career in the field of Special Education or in the Career Field of working with autistic children/adults (SLP, medical, psychology, educational or legal). TBA
Bakersfield College 2017-18 Incoming Freshman Scholarship Students must go online to Bakersfield College’s Financial Aid page to apply. Fill out one simple general scholarship application to be considered for many of the scholarships available at BC. TBA
Bakersfield Chinese Women’s Club: Applicant must be of Chinese descent, complete application, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and include a 200 word essay. TBA
Budd Ray Memorial Scholarship Applicant must be the child or grandchild of a veteran or active duty military member. A completed application along with five brief questions is required. Award is a one-time $500.00 scholarship. TBA
CAEOP CA Assoc. of Educational Office Professionals This scholarship will assist business education students who wish to continue higher education and purse a career in business administration or education. Applicant must have maintained a GPA of 2.0 or better in high school. The scholarship is valued at $1,000. TBA
 Calcot-Seitz Foundation This scholarship is available to students who major in agriculture at a four-year school that offers a degree in agriculture. Scholarships will be up to $3,000 each and are payable over a one to three-year period. TBA
 Association of California School Administrators To qualify for this scholarship at least one of the parents of the applying student must be an ACSA member. A completed application, transcript and letters of recommendation are required. TBA
 California Alarm Association/Electronic Security Association Youth Scholarship Student must be a child of an active duty law enforcement or fire service personnel in the State of CA. This program rewards students who have excelled academically and are active in community and extra-curricular activities at their school. TBA
 California Association of Wine Grape Growers Foundation Students must have a parent or guardian employed by a CA vineyard during the 2016/2017 wine grape growing season to apply. Be graduating and planning to attend a University of CA, CSU or a CA community college. TBA
 California Table Grape Field Worker Scholarship This scholarship is open to children of table grape field workers only. Up to three $20,000 four-year scholarships and three $3,500 two-year scholarships are available to 2017 graduating seniors. In order to be eligible, students must plan to attend school in California. Preference will be given to those expressing a commitment to a future in agriculture and/or a career in the table grape industry. TBA
Caltrans 2018 District 6/Central Region Employee Family Scholarship Students must be related to a current, former, or retired Caltrans District 6 employee. Planning to attend a university/college/junior college or trade school to pursue a career in a transportation related field. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or better. Applicants will have the opportunity to be selected for a $1,000 or a $2,000 scholarship. TBA
Caltrans 2018 District 6/Central Region Transportation Scholarship This scholarship is for students who are entering a college/university/junior college or trade school and are planning to major in a transportation related field. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or better to apply. Applicants will have the opportunity to be selected for a $1,000 or a $2,000 scholarship. TBA
Centennial High School Staff Club Scholarship Applicant must be interested in entering the field of education and be planning on either attending Bakersfield College or Cal State Bakersfield. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. A two to four hundred word essay is on why you want to enter the field of education must be included. TBA
Christa McAuliffe Elementary School Alumni $1,000 Scholarship Opportunity Senior student must be in good standing with the school and currently hold a minimum 2.5 GPA. The student must be alumni of Christa McAuliffe Elementary School for a minimum of 2 years. TBA
Contreras Scholarship Foundation This scholarship is a one-time award offering educational assistance for graduating seniors. GPA must be between a 2.5-3.5 no higher. Student must have financial need. Each student must demonstrate a high degree of motivation and the desire to achieve their academic goals. TBA
CSEA “Local Chapter” Scholarship One parent or guardian of the senior applicant must be a member in good standing with CSEA, Chapter #81 for at least one year. Must have a  minimum GPA of 3.0., an application with a GPA of less than 3.0 may be considered for a book scholarship. TBA
CSEA “State” Scholarship $1,000 scholarships are awarded to CSEA member dependents based on academic achievements, character, leadership and extra-curricular activities within the community. Applicant must have at least one parent or guardian who is a member in good standing of CSEA and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.  TBA
CSUB Scholarships CSUB awards more than $2 million in scholarships annually. Once you are admitted to the university, and have been assigned a CSUB Student ID, you may apply for scholarships. Applicants must apply online: csub.academicworks.com  TBA
CSUB Hispanic Excellence Scholarship Fund Open to full-time students planning to attend CSUB in the Fall 2017. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better to apply. In addition to high academic achievement, special attention is given to students who are first in their family to attend college and to students with economic need. TBA
Dale Scott & Co. Scholarship 2018 Applicant must be a graduating female student pursuing studies in either finance or political science. Award amount will be either one $1,000 or two $500 scholarships. TBA
Democratic Women of Kern DWK is granting a $500.00 scholarship to a graduating female senior who is either a registered Democrat or who has at least one parent or legal guardian who is a registered Democrat, and will be enrolling in an accredited College or Trade school in the fall of 2017. Applicant must have a GPA of 2.5 or above. TBA
E.M. Tharp Inc./ World Ag Expo Scholarship “We Believe in Growing Scholarship” Student must be planning on attending a 4-year university with future educational and vocational career goals related to agriculture. Applicant must reside in Madera, Fresno, Tulare, Kings or Kern counties. Essay questions include describing FFA and 4-H experience including activities, projects and judging teams. TBA
Filipino Community of Bakersfield & Vicinity, Inc. This scholarship wants to recognize graduating seniors of Filipino Ancestry who have achieved a balance of excellence in academics, leadership, and community service. TBA
Rod & Bob Grimm 2018 Memorial Scholarship This scholarship program is for the children of employees of Grimmway Enterprises, Inc.. The goal of the program is to encourage employees’ children to attend a college or university and earn a college degree. Amount of award varies with renewals and upgrades. TBA
Hall Ambulance Service Incorporated This scholarship is a one-time $250 award to a senior graduate entering college and enrolling full-time with a major in a medical field: paramedic, EMT, nurse, physician, dentist, dental hygienist, etc. TBA
Harvey and Laura Brockmeyer Kiwanis Scholarship Applicant must have been a member of a Future Farmer Chapter or Key Club of a Kern County High School or the child or grandchild of a Kern County Kiwanian. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.  TBA
Howard and Mamie Nichols Scholarship Fund Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident. Planning on attending a two-year or four-year college or university with 12 units or more. Have achieved at least a 3.0 GPA while in high school. Application materials are available at: www.sms.scholarshipamerica.org/wellsfargotrust. TBA
Italian Catholic Federation  Applicant must be a Roman Catholic of Italian descent who has a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2. You may also qualify if either Roman Catholic parent is a member of the Italian Catholic Federation. First year scholarship is $400. TBA
Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund Mrs. Scott was one of the 125 individuals who perished in the Pentagon on 9/11. This scholarship is based primarily on a need basis, combined income of parent(s) cannot exceed $50,000. Applicant must have demonstrated leadership abilities through participating in community services or other extra curricular activities. TBA
Juan Arrache Memorial Essay Contest Applicant must be a Kern County High School senior in good standing. A type-written essay between five and seven hundred fifty words on the subject of honesty, integrity and courage. The words must come from the heart. The winner of the contest will receive $2,000 to use anyway they wish. TBA
Kern Association of Educational Office Professionals This scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who plans to attend college and major in Business or a Business related field. Applicant must include an official school transcript, two letters of reference from high school and a short biography highlighting their extra-curricular activities and detailing future plans. TBA
2018 Bill Dolan Kern County Law Enforcement Foundation Scholarship Student must have a 3.0 GPA and have lived in Kern County for the past 5 years. Should have aspirations for employment in a local law enforcement/criminal justice agency. Personal resume and a 250 essay is required. Award is up to $1,000 per year for a total of $4,000 over four years. TBA
Kern County Wool Grower’s Auxiliary Applicant must be planning to pursue the study of agriculture or an agriculture related field. Must have maintained a 3.0 GPA sophomore through senior years. An essay is also required. Award amount is $1,000. TBA
Kern High School Teachers for Student Achievement 2017 Scholarships The KHSTSA will award six or more, $500 scholarships. Scholarships will be awarded to students planning to attend a vocational school, a certificate program at a community college or a trade apprentice program after graduating from high school. Scholarships will also be awarded to a student attending an academic degree at a college or university. TBA
Laurelglen Elementary School Scholarship Applicant must have attended Laurelglen Elementary School for at least one year. Award amount is $500 for (2) graduating seniors that plan to continue their education. TBA
Lincoln Day 2018 Essay Contest Applicants must pick a current issue that has either a local/national impact and explain how Abraham Lincoln would deal with the issue today. Essays must be no longer then 500 words. First, second, and third place winners will be presented with scholarships of $2,000, $1,000 and $750 at the annual Kern County Lincoln Day Dinner. TBA
Loyd’s 2018 Aviation Paper Airplane Scholarship Contest Applicant’s must have plans to pursue degrees in STEM , and or Aviation. This is a paper airplane building competition. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. One scholarship will be awarded to the individual whose paper airplane flies the farthest; one will be awarded to the individual whose airplane stays airborne the longest. TBA
McGregor Scholarship 2018 Applicant must be a KHSD student who has had a major interest in the field of music and plans to study music in college. Transcript, statement regarding extra-curricular activities, self statement or goals and letters of recommendation are required. Award amount is $100-$1,000. TBA
MOAA Military Officers Association of America Bakersfield Chapter Applicant must be in a JROTC Program OR be a son, daughter or grandchild of a military active duty member OR an honorably discharged military veteran (can be deceased). This year there will be (3) $1,000 scholarships awarded to outstanding seniors to attend a four year college, two year junior college or a certified vocational school. TBA
Norris Middle School Scholarship Must be a graduate of Norris Middle School with a GPA of at least 3.0. A positive influence at both NMS and CHS with extra-curricular involvement at both schools is required. TBA
Omni Family Health Scholarship Applicant must have an interest in the health care profession. Must be a current year high school graduate, with a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher for grades 9-12. Sealed letters of recommendation from at least 3 teachers or administrators is required. Up to 10 awards of $1,000 will be distributed. TBA
PG&E’s Better Together Giving Program PG&E is awarding $5,000 scholarships, renewable up to 4 years to diverse students pursuing STEM studies in California schools. Targeted majors include: Engineering (electrical, mechanical, computer, industrial, environmental), Computer Science, Cyber Security and Environmental Sciences. TBA
Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) The mission of PEO is to promote educational opportunities for women. Applicants must be female and reside in Kern County with a minimum GPA of 3.5. Financial need will be considered when choosing the recipient but is not the deciding factor in awarding the scholarship. A transcript and two letters of recommendation are required. TBA
Talons 2018 Scholarship Applicant must be a senior at CHS and a member of Band, Color Guard, or Orchestra. Applicant must have participated in a high school instrumental music program for at least three years and have a 3.0 GPA. Awards are $750, $500, $300 to be announced at the Awards Dinner. TBA
Theresa Corti Agricultural Scholarship Fund Applicants who have an Ag or Ag-related major specifically interested in farming, stock raising or soil conservation at an accredited two or four year college or university (Forestry and Ag Education are not included). Student must have achieved at least a 2.0 GPA while in high school and be planning on taking at least 12 units in college. The Bakersfield Scottish Rite Bodies Scholarship Applicant must have a GPA of 3.0 and be planning on enrollment in an accredited trade tech, college or university. An interview maybe required before final selections are made. Special consideration will be given to those persons pursuing a degree in speech pathology. This scholarship award is in the amount of $5,000 and maybe renewed up to four  times.  TBA
The Fred Pierucci Scholarship for Architecture and Planning To qualify you must be a graduating senior from CHS who intends to attend college in the Fall 2017 and who demonstrates an interest in studying architecture, planning, or a related field. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage early awareness of graduate level education and to promote careers in the built environment that improve the lives of people and communities through policy and design. To apply, please submit a personal statement (maximum 500 words) and one letter of recommendation to Ms. Hayes in the Career Center. TBA
The Kern County Science Foundation Scholarship Applicants must have participated in at least one Kern County Regional (or equivalent) Science Fair during their high school years, and have a 3.5 GPA (10-12 grade – PE). TBA
The Pierucci Family Economics Scholarship This award is for a CHS senior planning on attending college in the fall, who has an interest in the study of economics. A 500 word or less essay is required along with one letter of recommendation. You must explain one economic policy action you would take as either Chairman of the Federal Reserve or the President of the United States given the current economic climate. TBA
The Woman’s Club of Bakersfield Student Scholarship 2017-2018 Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 along with community, extracurricular and volunteer activities. The application must contain a brief essay of goals and objectives and two recommendations. Scholarship awards are $1,000.00 and are for the 2017 Fall Semester. TBA
Thelma Rae Self Music Scholarship Students will be chosen on the basis of need and musical promise. A self-statement of goals: two letters of recommendation (must include music teacher and counselor or administrator) and a copy of your transcript. Award amount is $100-$1,000. TBA
