GENERAL 

  • Picture Day for Freshman, Sophomore and Juniors will be May 2nd!
  • Finance is no longer accepting checks through the end of the year! CASH only for the rest of the year. 
  • The library will host Advanced Placement testing during the weeks of May 1 and May 8, and some library services may not be available during this time. 

ATHLETICS 

  • All athletes must have a physical packet turned in to the athletic office before participating in any sports or they can NOT participate! Physical packets must be resubmitted every academic year. Free physicals for currently enrolled students is May 12th at 1:30p. You must have your packet in to practice for Fall sports. Please come to the athletics office to get a packet.
  • Track will need to head to the bus after the end of 3rd period
  • Swim needs to check into 7th then head to the bus after checking in

ACTIVITIES 

  • Prom tickets on sale! Make sure you have your dance contracts in and your debt screen in cleared or you will not be sold a ticket! Tickets $50, CASH ONLY since Finance is no longer taking checks! Tickets go up to $55 starting Monday! 
  • Senior Dance sign ups are in the activities office to dance in the Senior Rally May 12th.
  • Senior Sunset order forms are in the activities office and are due to Finance May 17th
  • Cap and Gowns will be delivered May 9th during lunch under the red activities awning

CLUBS

FROM THE CAREER CENTER

Seniors: The Norris Middle School Scholarship is in! Pick the application up in the career center. Due date is May 1, 2017.

A Rep. from California Aeronautical will be on campus May 2nd. If you are interested in aviation sign up in the career center for more information on this program.

Attention Juniors: It will be a very short time and you'll be filling out applications for college. The Rep. from Cal State Bakersfield will be visiting on Wednesday, May 10th, fourth period only to share valuable information about applying. Sign up in the Career Center to attend. 

Enjoy fun, food and music at Celebrate CSUB! 9am-1pm on Saturday, April 29th. The open house and outdoor festival is a great way to explore how attending CSUB can release your academic and creative potential and provide paths to a bright future. Whether students are interested in art, business, education, or the sciences, they'll find it at CSUB! Flyers are available in the career center.

Seniors: The Kern County Law Enforcement Foundation Scholarship is here, pick up an application in the career center. Scholarship recipients will be awarded up to $1,000 per year for a total of $4,000 over four years, subjected to scholarship requirements. 

BC Bound Seniors: Classes for Summer and Fall 2017 are online! Register now, if you need help stop by the career center.

Attention BC Bound Seniors: If you have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, you have the opportunity to participate in the Bakersfield College President’s Scholars program. This prestigious program was established to encourage high-performing high school graduates to continue their outstanding achievements at BC. Check with Ms. Hayes for more information.

The Scholarship of the Week is: The Patricia Jean Foundation Memorial Scholarship. Applicants must have completed 50 hours of community service during high school to apply for this scholarship. The Patricia Jean Memorial Scholarship will be awarding twenty-five local high school seniors, who will receive $2,000 each. Deadline is 06/10/17.

The career center is open to students before school, during 1st thru 5th periods, and is located in the main office by the counseling offices.
