GENERAL 

  • After-school math tutoring is in the library from 2:45 to 3:45. Math Tutoring will be available every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
  • If you still haven't taken your senior picture for the yearbook, it's not too late. Christian Hall will be here the morning of October 18th for last chance pics. Report to the PAC stage before 11:30am on the 18th

ATHLETICS 

  • All Winter Athletes! If you are interested in playing: basketball soccer or wrestling; your physical packet must be turned in before conditioning! Conditioning starts today and you will not be allowed to condition if you don't have a physical packet on file!
  • Presale ticket to the BHS game this week are on sale now in the Finance office
  • Wrestling Athletes! Conditioning will start today outside the weight room at 3pm!
  • Girl's Soccer Conditioning starts today at 3:15. Athletic Clearance packets must be turned into the Athletic office. More information on the Centennial website under Teams page

ACTIVITIES 

  • Picture Day Make ups are scheduled for the 19th during lunch in the gym lobby. Order forms are in the activities office
  • Think Pink order forms are due Thursday!
  • Senior Panoramic picture will be taken during 4th period on the 25th. All shirts made need to be approved through the Activities and Athletic office no later than Friday!

CLUBS

  •  The Soaring Hawks is selling Homecoming Buttons and Bling from Manager Raymond Lara during lunch! Get your Bling on for the Game tonight and support our Soaring Hawks!!
  • The second meeting of the Young Democrats will be held Tues the 17th after school in room 1201. Come show your support.
  • Remnant Bible Club will meet for lunch today in room 1605. Bring your bible and your friends.

FROM THE CAREER CENTER

  • Attention Juniors and Seniors:  The California Aeronautical University will be on campus Oct. 17th, 6th period only with their Mobile Flight Simulator. If you are interested in becoming a pilot please sign up in the Career Center.
  • Attention Juniors and Seniors: Make your blood donation count, the Gallon Grad Club is open to all students.  If you donate 8 times to reach a gallon, you will be entered to win one of two $250 scholarships from Kern Schools. You must become a Gallon Grad by May 1st of your graduating year. For more info check with Ms. Hayes in the Career Center.
  • Learn the essentials of a winning UC Application at the free Application & Admissions Workshop series held at Bakersfield College.  Part 2: The UC Application will be on October 28th. All seniors interested in submitting a solid UC application are welcome. Flyers are available in the Career Center with more information. 
  • A special presentation on the Ivy League college application process will be taking place at West High, Oct. 19th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Flyers are available in the Career Center with more information.
  • Attention Seniors our 1st community scholarship has arrived! The Senior Scholarship of the Week: Woman's Club of Bakersfield. Scholarship award is based upon having a cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher, community and volunteer service, instructor/faculty recommendation, career goals and objectives. Applicant must be a resident of Kern County and be a citizen of the U.S.. Deadline is March 1, 2018.
