GENERAL 

  • Your Golden Hawk cafeteria is ready for another great year. All students on campus for an activity be sure to stop by and pick up your free after school snack in front of the cafeteria.
  • Lifetouch will be here tomorrow for school portraits. Freshman are mandatory and will take photos during PE periods. Anyone else needing to take a picture can go in between passing periods or at lunch.
  • Back to School dance is the 30th. Please remember only Centennial students will be permitted at the dance and you must have a dance contract on file!
  • Seniors! Jostens will be on campus next Tuesday taking orders for graduation announcements and class rings.

ATHLETICS 

  • All girls playing Softball this school year there is a meeting on Thursday August 24th in P3 the last 15 minutes of lunch.

ACTIVITIES 

  • Redzone Meeting at lunch in the gym Thursday

CLUBS

  • The first club advisor and rep meeting will be held August 30th at lunch
  • Robotics: We will have a meeting this Friday in room 1701 at noon (not the beginning of lunch) to discuss opportunities to work on a team to get experience building and programming robots.

FROM THE CAREER CENTER

  • Attention Juniors and Seniors: September is a busy month for college visits! Reps. will be visiting from: Fresno Pacific, Hawaii Pacific University, UOP, Grand Canyon, Point Loma, Westmont, Cal Baptist and UC Santa Barbara. Come to the Career Center and sign up if interested in hearing the presentation for any of these colleges.
  • Students must have a current permit on file with their employer. All permits issued in the summer and at the end of last school year  expired  August 21st. Be sure to pick up a new work permit application for this school year.
  • NOR is now hiring Flag Football & Volleyball Coaches for their after-school sports program. Coaches must be 16 or older and have reliable transportation. Position pays $10.50 per hour. This job may conflict with High School Fall Sports. For more info stop by the Career Center.
  • Reps. from the U.S. Air Force will be on campus today at lunch.
  • The 18th Annual Kern County COLLEGE NIGHT is September 11th, 5-8 p.m. at the Rabobank Convention Center. Parents and students can browse booths representing colleges, universities, technical and trade programs. Information sessions beginning at 5:45 p.m. will cover topics including: financial aid, public colleges, scholarships, competitive colleges and more. Admission is free.

 

 

 

 

 

  • The Career Center is open to students before school, during 1st thru 5th periods, and is located in the main office by the counseling offices.
