  • Alpha Delta Kappa – Theta Chapter Juliet Thorner Award Applicant must be a female graduate from a junior high or middle school in the Bakersfield City School District. A completed application, letter or recommendation and a transcript is required. Deadline is 03/28/17.
  • Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Kappa Omega Chapter Book Scholarship Applicants must live in Kern County, be African American and be planning on attending a university, community college, vocational school or the military. A completed application, personal essay, official transcript and two sealed letters or recommendation are required. Deadline is 02/15/17. Closed
  • American Petroleum Institute San Joaquin Valley Chapter This scholarship is for students who wish to purse a career in the petroleum industry or a closely related field. An essay, letters of recommendation, transcript, completed application and proof of enrollment is required. Deadline is 03/31/17.
  • Anthony Brucia Success Award This award is intended for resilient students who have made a turn-around in their lives. A student who has had to overcome lack of success early on or who had to struggle to maintain academic progress due to a variety of reasons, including but not limited to personal or family stress or problems. Deadline is 03/31/17.
  • Assistance League of Bakersfield Applicant must be entering a two year community college or four year college/university. Student must have a 3.0 GPA, financial need, community involvement and be a resident of Kern County. FAFSA must be completed. Scholarship awarded up to $1,000. Deadline is 04/07/17.
  • Autism Society Scholarship This scholarship requires that a candidate should be seeking a career in the field of Special Education or in the Career Field of working with autistic children/adults (SLP, medical, psychology, educational or legal). Deadline is 05/01/17.
  • Bakersfield College 2017-18 Incoming Freshman Scholarship Students must go online to Bakersfield College’s Financial Aid page to apply. Fill out one simple general scholarship application to be considered for many of the scholarships available at BC.
  • Bakersfield Chinese Women’s Club: Applicant must be of Chinese descent, complete application, have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and include a 200 word essay. Deadline is 03/31/17.
  • Budd Ray Memorial Scholarship Applicant must be the child or grandchild of a veteran or active duty military member. A completed application along with five brief questions is required. Award is a one-time $500.00 scholarship. Deadline is 04/01/17.
  • CAEOP CA Assoc. of Educational Office Professionals This scholarship will assist business education students who wish to continue higher education and purse a career in business administration or education. Applicant must have maintained a GPA of 2.0 or better in high school. The scholarship is valued at $1,000. Deadline is 12/12/17. Closed
  • Calcot-Seitz Foundation This scholarship is available to students who major in agriculture at a four-year school that offers a degree in agriculture. Scholarships will be up to $3,000 each and are payable over a one to three-year period. Deadline is 03/31/17.
  • Association of California School Administrators To qualify for this scholarship at least one of the parents of the applying student must be an ACSA member. A completed application, transcript and letters of recommendation are required. Deadline is 02/10/17.
  • California Alarm Association/Electronic Security Association Youth Scholarship Student must be a child of an active duty law enforcement or fire service personnel in the State of CA. This program rewards students who have excelled academically and are active in community and extra-curricular activities at their school. Deadline postmarked on or before 03/24/17.
  • California Association of Wine Grape Growers Foundation Students must have a parent or guardian employed by a CA vineyard during the 2016/2017 wine grape growing season to apply. Be graduating and planning to attend a University of CA, CSU or a CA community college. Deadline is 03/24/17 Postmarked.
  • California Table Grape Field Worker Scholarship This scholarship is open to children of table grape field workers only. Up to three $20,000 four-year scholarships and three $3,500 two-year scholarships are available to 2017 graduating seniors. In order to be eligible, students must plan to attend school in California. Preference will be given to those expressing a commitment to a future in agriculture and/or a career in the table grape industry. Deadline is 01/23/17. Closed
  • Caltrans 2017 District 6/Central Region Employee Family Scholarship Students must be related to a current, former, or retired Caltrans District 6 employee. Planning to attend a university/college/junior college or trade school to pursue a career in a transportation related field. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or better. Applicants will have the opportunity to be selected for a $1,000 or a $2,000 scholarship. Deadline is 03/27/17.
  • Caltrans 2017 District 6/Central Region Transportation Scholarship This scholarship is for students who are entering a college/university/junior college or trade school and are planning to major in a transportation related field. Must have a GPA of 2.5 or better to apply. Applicants will have the opportunity to be selected for a $1,000 or a $2,000 scholarship. Deadline is 03/27/17.
  • Centennial High School Staff Club Scholarship Applicant must be interested in entering the field of education and be planning on either attending Bakersfield College or Cal State Bakersfield. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. A two to four hundred word essay is on why you want to enter the field of education must be included.  Deadline is 03/31/17.
  • Contreras Scholarship Foundation This scholarship is a one-time award offering educational assistance for graduating seniors. GPA must be between a 2.5-3.5 no higher. Student must have financial need. Each student must demonstrate a high degree of motivation and the desire to achieve their academic goals. Deadline is 04/21/17.
  • CSUB Scholarships CSUB awards more than $2 million in scholarships annually. Once you are admitted to the university, and have been assigned a CSUB Student ID, you may apply for scholarships. Applicants must apply online: csub.academicworks.com Deadline is 03/31/17.
  • Dale Scott & Co. Scholarship 2017 Applicant must be a graduating female student pursuing studies in either finance or political science. Deadline is 03/10/17.
  • E.M. Tharp Inc./ World Ag Expo Scholarship “We Believe in Growing Scholarship” Student must be planning on attending a 4-year university with future educational and vocational career goals related to agriculture. Applicant must reside in Madera, Fresno, Tulare, Kings or Kern counties. Essay questions include describing FFA and 4-H experience including activities, projects and judging teams.   • Rod & Bob Grimm 2017 Memorial Scholarship This scholarship program is for the children of employees of Grimmway Enterprises, Inc.. The goal of the program is to encourage employees’ children to attend a college or university and earn a college degree. Amount of award varies with renewals and upgrades. Deadline is 04/01/17.
  • Italian Catholic Federation  Applicant must be a Roman Catholic of Italian descent who has a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2. You may also qualify if either Roman Catholic parent is a member of the Italian Catholic Federation. First year scholarship is $400. Deadline is 03/15/17.
  • Juan Arrache Memorial Essay Contest Applicant must be a Kern County High School senior in good standing. A type-written essay between five and seven hundred fifty words on the subject of honesty, integrity and courage. The words must come from the heart. The winner of the contest will receive $2,000 to use anyway they wish. Deadline is 03/10/17.
  • Kern Association of Educational Office Professionals This scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior who plans to attend college and major in Business or a Business related field. Applicant must include an official school transcript, two letters of reference from high school and a short biography highlighting their extra-curricular activities and detailing future plans. Deadline is 03/28/17.
  • Lincoln Day 2017 Essay Contest Applicants must pick a current issue that has either a local/national impact and explain how Abraham Lincoln would deal with the issue today. Essays must be no longer then 500 words. First, second, and third place winners will be presented with scholarships of $2,000, $1,000 and $750 at the annual Kern County Lincoln Day Dinner. Deadline is 02/17/17.
  • McGregor Scholarship 2017 Applicant must be a KHSD student who has had a major interest in the field of music and plans to study music in college. Transcript, statement regarding extra-curricular activities, self statement or goals and letters of recommendation are required. Award amount is $100-$1,000. Deadline is 03/10/17.
  • Omni Family Health Scholarship Applicant must have an interest in the health care profession. Must be a current year high school graduate, with a cumulative 3.5 GPA or higher for grades 9-12. Sealed letters of recommendation from at least 3 teachers or administrators is required. Up to 10 awards of $1,000 will be distributed. Deadline is 03/31/17.
  • PG&E’s Better Together Giving Program PG&E is awarding $5,000 scholarships, renewable up to 4 years to diverse students pursuing STEM studies in California schools. Targeted majors include: Engineering (electrical, mechanical, computer, industrial, environmental), Computer Science, Cyber Security and Environmental Sciences. Deadline is 03/31/17.
  • Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) The mission of PEO is to promote educational opportunities for women. Applicants must be female and reside in Kern County with a minimum GPA of 3.5. Financial need will be considered when choosing the recipient but is not the deciding factor in awarding the scholarship. A transcript and two letters of recommendation are required. Deadline is 03/24/17.
  • Talons 2017 Scholarship Applicant must be a senior at CHS and a member of Band, Color Guard, or Orchestra. Applicant must have participated in a high school instrumental music program for at least three years and have a 3.0 GPA. Deadline is 04/26/17.
  • The Fred Pierucci Scholarship for Architecture and Planning To qualify you must be a graduating senior from CHS who intends to attend college in the Fall 2017 and who demonstrates an interest in studying architecture, planning, or a related field. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage early awareness of graduate level education and to promote careers in the built environment that improve the lives of people and communities through policy and design. To apply, please submit a personal statement (maximum 500 words) and one letter of recommendation to Ms. Hayes in the Career Center. Deadline is 03/31/17.
  • The Kern County Science Foundation Scholarship Applicants must have participated in at least one Kern County Regional (or equivalent) Science Fair during their high school years, and have a 3.5 GPA (10-12 grade – PE). Deadline is 02/21/17.
  • The Woman’s Club of Bakersfield Student Scholarship 2017-2018 Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 along with community, extracurricular and volunteer activities. The application must contain a brief essay of goals and objectives and two recommendations. Scholarship awards are $1,000.00 and are for the 2017 Fall Semester. Deadline is 03/24/17.
  • Thelma Rae Self Music Scholarship Students will be chosen on the basis of need and musical promise. A self-statement of goals: two letters of recommendation (must include music teacher and counselor or administrator) and a copy of your transcript. Award amount is $100-$1,000. Deadline is 03/10/17.
